It's a little filly!!!

I must have known it was coming because friday I started "nesting". I mowed the pasture behind the barn and asked Jeff to trim the trees out there. I also decided it was time to start nightly checks. Jeff went out around 12:30am and said everything looked normal. I went out at 5am expecting to just feed a few hours earlier and to my surprise a little black horse was up and walking around. I am disappointed that I missed it but glad everything went very smoothly. The photos of her in the stall are her about 2-3 hours old and the outside ones she is about 7-8 hours old. We named her Indi for Independence seeing she was born on the 4th of July. Four different people suggested this name to me and I figured if I did not name her this they were going to call her it anyways. Indi is black now but will turn gray eventually (not sure what shade). You can see the gray around her eyes and the flecks in her body hairs. Not sure how I ended up with a bunch of white horses since I hate trying to keep whites clean. But at least I still have my dark and handsome Tyler.

Long Time No Post

I have not written in awhile. So where have I been? I am not sure. My weeks go by fairly quickly lately. I guess that means we are doing something. I recently purchased an annual pass to Disney World and since Jada is still free we are going to take full advantage of this. It is only a two hour drive to get there and we have gone twice in the last week. I plan on going next week too. Jada calls it "Mickey's House" and loves the Magic Kingdom. She likes the "up and down" ride aka the Magic carpet Ride. We went to Hollywood Studios last time and she loved the Playhouse Disney Live show and the Honey I shrunk the kids playground but the rest was not too exciting. We are going to give the Animal Kingdom a whirl next time.
I also started running some which for those of you who really know me probably think is pretty funny. My horse has been kind of off for 3 months and I needed some form of exercise. We will see how long it lasts though with summer rapidly approaching and the already 90 degree temps.

Another Poop Tale

This is another one of those stories that all may not appreciate or want to read. So there is my Warning/Disclosure. My new shower I got done in October is great for having Jada in it. It is plenty big and all her toys fit in there as well as both of us. Jada still does not do baths but instead showers. (You think this is my neurotic/I hate water issue?) When I finish showering I get out to get dressed while Jada continues to play. The other day I hear Uh Oh!! So I opened the shower door to Jada saying "poop!" and a big turtle on the floor. We had a talk I and I explained that we don't poop in the shower only in the potty. Every time after this that we go to use the shower Jada always starts out by saying "No Poop". So again the other day I leave the shower and let her keep playing. I peek in the door to her holding her butt saying Uh Oh! We miraculously made it to the potty in time and spared my poor new shower of more turtles. I guess squatting in a warm shower brings it on!

He Still Endures The Torture

This is what a two year old does with her best doggie friend. He never runs away or snarls but instead just sits there and takes it. What a good boy Flint!!

A Squeaky Clean Pony

So his name is officially Moe. Jada absolutely adores him and he is the best pony I could have ever found. He very personable and will hang with his head over the stall door for Jada to brush him, hug him, or even kiss him on the nose. We love you Moe and hope you love us back because you are stuck with us for a very long while.

It's a Turtle Party

For Jada's 2nd Birthday we had a turtle party. Everyone seemed to have a great time. We had the party at home and even built horseshoe pits for the occasion (obviously not for Jada to play with). The weather was perfect and we had about 40 guests show up. This year we asked people instead of bringing gifts to donate to the Turtle Hospital (hence the turtle themed party) and we raised over 600 dollars for them. Jada got a pony, a powerwheels, and a tricycle. I'm not sure how we are going to top that one next year.

Cruisin'

Jada got her power wheels and thinks the pink bling is absolutely fabulous. She isn't too sure how to drive it yet. We can use a golf club and walk beside her to hit the gas for her. I am sure she will catch on soon. In the mean time we will have to keep borrowing the neighbors' 4 year old daughter to cruise them around.

Pimp My Ride

So my brother is attempting to out do my pony and bought Jada her first power wheels for her birthday. It's a mini Ford F-150 Harley Davidson style. We of course decided to pimp it out girl style by removing all the Harley/monster stickers and adding butterflies, pink pillows, and pink floor mats.

Bunnies and Pigs and Camels

Jada and I went to the Charlotte County Fair last week. It's like any other fair only less. Regardless Jada still had a blast. She played with all the animals. She loved the 4H goats and bunnies but the calling roosters frightened her a bit. She was also afraid of the pigs but not the enormous camel. She quickly learned you needed tickets for the rides and began with "tickets please". We rode the carousel more times than I cared to seeing I easily get dizzy on spinning rides. Plant City Strawberry Festival is the next stop on our list in a couple of weeks.

The Before Shots

So here are some photos of Jada's new pony. He is stashed away at the neighbor's and she hasn't seen him yet. This weekend he is getting a serious pony makeover. I didn't know when I bought him but he has the most beautiful blue eyes.

The Pony Has Landed

We got a pony! We got a pony! He arrived at 6AM this morning. He is super cute but needs a little pony makeover. I like my critters neat and trimmed. After the cold front this week the little guy will get clipped, his mane trimmed up, and a bath. My awesome neighbor is keeping him for me until Jada's party in a few weeks. She is going to take him for walks with her dogs on the trails. He is going to be like our big outside dog. I can't wait to see Jada's face when she sees him. I will get photos out soon.

A Weekend Away

Jada and I went to New York City a few weeks ago to visit Keith and Leah and some friends. We had a great little get away. Jada was her superstar self on the plane and I didn't even have to drug her (Benadryl). We ate scrumptious food all weekend including my favorite Soup Man. Friday we took Jada to Toys R Us and went on the big ferris wheel. That night Tri joined us for fiesta night with homemade decorations, margaritas, and quesadillas. Saturday we hit the Scandinavia house with Katie where the crazy old lady who ran it yelled at everyone to our entertainment. We also got our snow experience that day. Sunday we visited the Bronx Zoo and Jada had a blast screaming like the sea lions did. Jada and I got to pack all our winter clothes and I had fun wearing them again. It has been quite awhile since I wore a sweater.

It's a Pony!!!!

So she isn't three years old but two is pretty close I guess. I officially bought Jada her first pony. He will arrive in a couple of weeks from Arkansas and staying at the neighbors until Jada's birthday on the 23rd. He is a bit chunky right now but with a little work I am sure he will be as fit as can be soon enough. We can't wait to meet him and let Jada start dragging him everywhere with her. The picture is tiny so check him out on the website. www.diamondjequestrian.com look under ponies for sale and scroll down to Cisco.

It's Christmas time...Well Not Really Anymore

Christmas was great this year. Jada had a blast opening presents. She got a few too many though and at one point decided that unwrapping was too much work and began to put them back under the tree. Jeff got his Wii, which definitely made his day. I racked in some new horse stuff, always fun. I can't believe it is over already but I guess that is how it goes every year. Now we are looking forward to Jada's second birthday. Hard to believe she is going to be 2 already.
