So last night Jeff and I heard the plane flying low over the house and got all excited. Mosquito Control was spraying and that usually means instantaneous relief. This morning I was shocked to see great numbers of mosquitoes still buzzing around the barn. Either the flooded ditches are just too infested for the spraying to have mattered or these bugs are building up some crazy resistance to the poison they use. Florida has some ridiculous eighty species of mosquitoes I recently discovered (http://mosquito.ifas.ufl.edu/Mosquito_Database.asp) and from my own observations some are literally an inch long. I have become quite obsessed with keeping these annoying bugs out of my living space but not sure with how much success. I am one of those "sweet blooded" types who is always attracting and being bit by them. I can't wait for winter again.
